About The Coaching

The heart of what I do is ‘self-management’ - mindset, habits, systems and accountability.

There's no set ‘starting point’ or serial road map; every client starts where they are. Focused on your priorities. | might use materials, depending on the focus or phase of your business and life. I've stopped offering long programs unless I have a group of people with the same priorities. | coach one on one virtually. All kinds of frequencies and durations, depending on the goal for our coaching. Some people coach three times a month, an hour at a time, some coach ongoing once a month, for accountability and sometimes I coach people for short bursts more frequently during a time when focus Is critical. For others, it might be one discussion and we're done.

I offer a mix of consulting and coaching. The starting point might be triaging a crazy workload. Or the reverse, getting an empty marketing pipeline flowing again. Need help making a decision or scripting how to handle a difficult situation? Or maybe it's motivation, acceleration. Getting past a "stuck" point. Creating goals, building plans and tracking progress. Money and ‘worthiness’ are topics that come up with perfectionists like many of my clients.

Oh, and | love coaching graduates of other coaching programs. Where they need help figuring out what really works in their lives or how to keep it going. That is fast, good work, moving through the "how to" that you've covered, getting to the actual "do it consistently" part. So many programs, and me, coach "how to", but the rocket science is in the doing. Yep, I repeat that all over this site.

Generally speaking, I coach marketing and client management, time management and productivity, staffing/leverage and financial competence. The heart of what I do is ‘self-management’ - mindset, habits, and systems. We focus on what you want and how to get it. Our timeframe changes, I keep the big picture and the near-term actions aligned. As we go, you learn how to keep it aligned for yourself. It isn't unlikely to find that a new client knows a lot about what they need to do to be more successful, they just need the skill and support to make it happen. I use a lot of examples, my clients are never the first to have the issues they bring to our table!

Always starting where you are. Always one conversation at a time, one set of deliverables. Keeping focus on more of what matters, nothing that doesn't. Paying attention to happiness. Celebrating wins. Learning from stumbles. A bit of laughter, it's needed too.

It's simple to try coaching with me. Just set up a coaching appointment right here. Right now. One at a time. If you aren't happy with the value you get from any call, a refund will be happily made. with a smile and best wishes. Win-win. It's the only way for us both to be successful.

About Me

How did a Type A professional with a successful corporate career and a Chicago MBA end up coaching entrepreneurial lawyers?

The turning point was when my husband brought our small daughter and her Happy Meal to my office one Saturday, afternoon. It wasn't the first time, but it was one of the last. After eighteen years making change happen in corporate; environments like Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and Accenture - I was done. Once I'd proven to myself that | could climb those ladders, compete in that world - I stopped enjoying it. The effort it took to make an impact in a huge business system wasn't worth the hassle.

A colleague suggested I'd be a great business coach and after some research, I was all in. I've always been good at connecting the dots. l'm good at mindset and cleaning up the barriers people construct In front of themselves. If it matters, I am a Lean Six Sigma trained process management pro, fact-based, practical with plans. I know how to move forward to results. My favorite testimonial includes “knows how to cut through the bullshit and call the question." I have been investing in continuing education in coaching skills since I started. (Imagine a class called 'Listening' or 'Challenging’—but yes, they are skills!)

When I started, I had to explain what “coaching” was. Not many professionals understood the return on a coaching investment. Terms like mindfulness and self-care’ were 100% woo-woo . Now there's science to support the benefits people like lawyers and other professional services folk can see from investing in coaching. Now productivity how-to's are listed in '10 Ways To...' articles everywhere. Apps to make sure you get things done proliferate. A search for "coaching for lawyers" returns pages of results. There are coaches for women professionals, for mom or dad professionals, you can choose between "6-figure lawyer" coaches or go the full monty for "millionaire lawyer" coaches.

I don't explain much about what I do anymore, I'd rather spend my time showing you. Bottom line? If you have read this far- I think you're ready to invest in one hour of coaching to see if it will help you. Pretty sure I can help you!

Finding proven advice on what to do has become simple. As always, the rocket science is in the DOING.

That immediate connection between the work we do and the results my clients see and feel is what matters to me. My clients are direct, they act on what they learn. They're imperfect perfectionists and we're a good ft. Not being a lawyer has turned out to be one of my key advantages. Innovation from other experiences Is a great add to my coaching. I am first and foremost, business-minded. I want your business to support the life you want to live. To return the free time and the income you want.

I do coach other professional services entrepreneurs, such as tax professionals or financial managers that a trust and estate attorney might refer. Sometimes | end up coaching my clients’ clients- that is a great referral. What the people | work with all have in common is that they want to build businesses that serve their lives and they've realized that something has to change right now.

Let's get to work!

Nothing to lose, everything to gain - schedule now.

You are a beacon of clarity and you "call the question" in a no-nonsense, but kind way. The work we've done together this year has changed my business and my life - I am truly grateful.
